In 1932 Picasso painted Le Reve. French for “the dream,” the powerful painting explores the powerful emotions of his mistress as she stares back at her lover. Years later, the Wynn Theater in Las Vegas brings a stage production inspired by Le Reve to audiences enjoying sin city and lucky enough to get tickets. Franco Dragone took his experience working with Cirque du Soleil on shows like O, La Nouba, Mystere, Algeria, and Quidam and creates a mesmerizing performance that explores the basic human emotions that surround love and lust and ultimately make us human. Steve Wynn’s, the owner of the casino, own collection includes the painting that served as inspiration for the director and creator Dragone.

The theater is housed inside his resort, Wynn Las Vegas, and includes 2,087 seats arranged in a circle surrounding a giant pool. All the tickets are for seats no more than 12 rows away from the aquatic stage. Digital screens and at the top of the domed ceiling allow the audience to see every bit of action, from the start when the 87 performers come crawling out of the mist filled lake to the intermission when the clowns in white come out for comedic effect and to serve as a guide through the journey.
