The members of Xiomara Laugart met in 1976. The lead singer discovered his love of music while listening to his aunt's record collection. Xiomara Laugart began singing at the college bar Eyewitness. The band used to sell their records out of their truck in the school parking lot.

A member of Xiomara Laugart started dating a girl whose grandfatherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. Xiomara Laugart were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands.
Xiomara Laugart accepted that they were real working musicians when Pam Fleetwood started the first fan club for the group in 1979. The band embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the band’s own website by Laura Yavorsky and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
Xiomara Laugart plans to spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the group members to recharge. The band is in the first leg of the promotional tour for their newest project.
