The members of X-Raves were friends in college. The drummer was encouraged to play by his grandfather. X-Raves began singing at the college bar Hobo. The band had their friends harass the local radio station to play their early songs.

About The X-Raves
X-Raves always wanted to hear themselves at the top of the charts and they got their wish with the release of their first single. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began. submitted their single to Q92.9 and a DJ took a liking to it. All the members quit their day jobs to focus on their music.
X-Raves knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act as soon as the group’s first fan club was started in 1985 by Virginia Leffelman. The fan club grew quickly from a few dozen members in a few cities to a few thousand nation wide.
The new release from X-Raves is a refinement of their established sound. The group is in the midst of the promotional tour for their newest album. X-Raves intends to spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the band members to pursue other projects.
