Artist: Winnie The Pooh
Gener: New York Theater
Background: “Winne The Pooh” is a wonderful treat to watch. "Winne The Pooh" has been drawing the most applause from the children. Currently at the Beacon Theatre for a limited period of time, the show is like a fun trip down the soothing memory lane. It's really aimed at the kids who enjoy this interactive production. This hugely successful show is completely inspired by the adventurous stories by A.A. Milne and Disney's lovely animated Winnie the Pooh films. A compassionate feeling runs through the whole show with some familiar tunes as "Rumbly in My Tumbly," "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers," and the Winnie the Pooh theme song; this interactive show provides an unique opportunity to the audience to sing along or to perform very simple exercises to the music. The costumes are faithfully designed by Gregg Barnes to give that perfect look and to mimic the hugely popular well known appearances of the characters. Tracie Franklin, the only vocal performer who narrates the simple tale and sings a few of the many songs. He is quite charismatic and sounds terrific.

The plot is fairly simple. It's Pooh's birthday, and all of his friends are present there, to celebrate this occasion. All the main characters are there; Rabbit, Piglet, Tigger, Eyeore, Owl, Kanga and Roo, and they are throwing him a superb surprise party. They all need to keep it secret from the Pooh, for the time being, which is very difficult for them. This wonderful show is very nicely directed by B T McNicholl; the show includes some sensational fun flying effects, balloon, a trampoline on a tree, a nice springboard for bouncing. Annie Louizos who has been designing the set has effectively set everything in place to give that perfect action. Choreography has been contributed from Christopher Gattelli, who has already given some acclaimed performances for campy musical theater projects including; Bat Boy, Altar Boyz and the Fringe hit Silence. This amazing show has been causing a stir among the audiences of all ages. So, be there to see the innocent and funny acts of 'Winnie the Pooh."
