Band has accumulated a huge critical acclaim in such a short period. According to Transistor Transmission, “Duluth's finest Jameson swigging lads, Trampled by Turtles, take to the stage to quench the Lake Superior hippie/yippie/cow-punk contingent's insatiable thirst for mosh-pit inducing hardcore bluegrass."
One thing that makes this band unique is the varied musical background of the band members. The blend hints of grunge, pop, and alt-country with the traditional sounds of the acoustic banjo, guitar, bass and mandolin. Well, the last two years have been like a roller-coaster ride for the band as they have been consistently playing across the various venues ranging from Great American Music Hall to basement parties.
The band has shared the stage with the likes of Pedro the Lion, Charlie Parr, Low, The Radiators and Nickel Creek. Trampled by Turtles issued their debut album "Songs from a Ghost Town" in 2004 and "Blue Sky and the Devil" in 2005. Duluth New Tribute said, "The Duluth foursome stretches the bluegrass template with its youth, sardonic humor and Indie rock backgrounds."
