The Wynners met with a local DJ from X98.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The bandspent years before being signed as an opening act. The Wynners’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure.

The Wynners knew that living life as a musician was a actual possibility after Martha Abbey started a fan club for the group in 1982. The fan club started out small with just a handful of members, generally localized to the area around Detroit, but the creation the band’s website by Amy Abbott, along with the first real national marketing campaign, saw the membership to grow into the thousands.

The new project from The Wynners is the band's first album in two years. The band is in the second leg of the tour promoting for their most current project. The Wynners intends to take some time off after this next tour, allowing the group members to pursue other projects.
