got Q95.1 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the band. All the members quit their other jobs to focus on their record. The View were still a little worried after they released their first release, but were relieved when the release began to get some radio play. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started.
The View accepted that they were real working musicians as soon as Carol Gitlewski started the first fan club for the band in 1988. The fan club received a huge boost after Kathleen Smith designed a website for the group. That coupled with the tour from New York to California saw the fan club’s official membership reach numbers in the thousands.
After this past busy year the members of The View will take a break. The band is in the first leg of the tour accompanying for their most current record. The new album from The View has taken the group in a very new direction, with a less refined sound.
