They sang at many popular events and award shows. Consequently this experience made them absolutely comfortable in front of the audiences and also helped to build their self confidence; and eventually, they started to grab the attention of many talent agencies and agents. While still in their teens; the sisters released three very good teen pop albums, but not as "The Veronicas." In 2001, they hit the Television and the sisters were seen in the popular children's series Cybergirl. Besides, indulging in other activities, they were also trying their skills in songwriting.

Eventually, they shifted their gears from pop to more mature genres like Rock. Then, they renamed themselves as Teal and with this new name released the single "Baby it’s over." The cool number became a rage and soon the sisters were being praised thoroughly and also recognized as songwriters. Then they earned the biggest break as they were hired by American Idol's hugely popular down under version Australian Idol.

In 2004, the sisters appeared on the debut album of Casey Donovan (Australian Idol winner). Their other numbers soon landed on the hugely anticipated album "Say Its Forever" by J-pop singer Miz. With this release the sisters rearranged their priorities and then focused on becoming internationally known stars. Then, they moved to Los Angeles and ultimately changed their name to the Veronicas. This was a very conducive beginning for them, as the girls turned 20, then they signed a deal with the label Sire (Warner Brothers-associated label).
