About The The Radiators

The band members were all established and experienced musicians as they all were part of some or the other group before The Radiators was formed. Initially they worked in the city's club and bars. The group produced very energetic and rocking music that earned them a lot of fans including the students of Tulane University.

“Work Done on Premises” was the band's very first album and was released on the Croaker label. On 9th May 1980, the group had performed at Tipitina's nightclub in New Orleans and the album is a live concert recording of that performance. In the following year their first studio album “Heat Generation,” was released. The album couldn't attract much attention and it failed to make any waves.

After their stint in making their debut album the band focused on performing live, which was their specialty and then there was no stopping them and they continued to grow. The band's fan base was getting only bigger. The Radiators, during this time started performing at the M.O.M.'s Ball, which was a notorious and private concert held in New Orleans every year before Mardi Gras. They enthralled the people by their amazing performances and were a big hit.

After a long gap the group released their next album “Law of the Fish,” in the year 1987. It was recorded under Epic Records and was their first major label album. The result was overwhelming. It was a hit among the crowds and made it to #139 on the Billboard charts.

In the year 1989 their next album “Zig-Zaggin' Through Ghostland,” was released. The album did better than the earlier one and made it to #122 on the Billboard charts. The band's next album “Total Evaporation,” was not a success and soon thereafter Epic Records and the group parted ways.

In the year 1992 they released “Snafu 10 – 31 – '91,” with the Croaker label. It was their first live album in a decade’s time. Next in the pipeline was “Bucket of Fish” released in the year 1994. The following year saw the release of “New Dark Ages” on WAR? Records.

“Live at the Great American Music Hall” came out in the year 1998. It was recorded at a club in San Francisco. Later The Radiators signed a deal with Rattlesby Records and released “The Radiators.” Another live album, “Earth vs. The Radiators: the First 25,” was released. The year 2006 saw the release of “Dreaming Out Loud.” It was recorded in New Orleans, not long after Hurricane Katrina had destroyed the city.

The band members include Ed Volker on keyboards and vocals, Dave Malone on guitar as well as vocals, guitarist Camile Baudoin, bass guitarist Reggie Scanlan and last but not the least Frank Bua on drums and percussion.
