Artist: The Queers
Genre: Rock
Latest Album: Summer Hits, No. 1
Background:
Sometimes the Queers are mistaken for another queercore band like label mates Pansy Division. But for someone who has listened the cool tracks like: "she got no tit," "I'm really goo-goo over you/I'm mentally retarded too," and "she's my Burger King Queen," etc, will easily dispel that misconception. While their many famous tracks are based on homophobia and sexism, but they are simply good natured and too goofy to mean any harm to anyone with their dumb-ass shtick and left-back-four-grades. This New Hampshire based band was formed in 1982 and made its way through the 1980s, recording some good singles and soothing compilation tracks along the way. Well much of their tracks were collected on a Dollar short and on Lookout's Day Late.

Before recording and issuing their first full-length studio album, "Grow Up," finally the band settled on a permanent line up comprising: drummer Hugh O'Neil, singer/guitarist Joe King, and B-Face on bass. The band released "Grow Up" on a very small English label called Shakin' Street. In 1993, the band released the Ben Weasel-produced "Love Songs for the Retarded." This release was followed by "Beat Off" in 1994 and "Magnum Opus," in 1996. The band suffered a huge loss when O'Neill one of the band members died on 21 January, 1999 with brain cancer. The Queers have given some of very best and soothing tracks to music lovers. You can experience their music, but first of all collect your tickets from your ticket vendor to catch the Queers performing live.
