Bill Hughes went to meet Finbar Wright in the year 1998 and requested him to join the band. But he had already signed a contract with Sony BMG, due to which he could not accept his proposal. Then he visited John McDermott to head up the group, who readily accepted the same.

Then after some time, Dr. Veronica Dunne, Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tyan also joined the group. In the year 1999, the first show of the band, “The Irish Tenors-in Dublin” was shown on PBS television in the United States.

One of the members of the group, Anthony Kearns showed his interest for music when he was only ten years old. The would be artist got his training in music at the Secondary School in Bunclody, an institution renowned for its music program.

Thereafter, Kearns became a part of Wicklow Music Society and The Local “signing pubs” competitions.

“Ireland's Great Romantic Singer”, Finbar Wright was brought up on a small farm in Ballinspittle, which was just yards away from the sea. He was only five years old when he started learning to play the piano. Apart from his education in music, he also studied for priesthood at Cork Farranferris College and became the youngest priest of the world at the age of 22.

He has performed in six solo recordings, out of which four went platinum.

“The Irish Tenors Live In Belfast” was an album by The Irish Tenors. The CD was released on January 8, 2007. The songbook consisted of many songs including: Dublin Medley: Dublin In the Rare Old Times; Molly Malone, Carrickfergus, Bantry Bay, Scorn Not His Simplicity, The Fields Of Athenry, Star Of The Country Down, The Last Rose Of Summer, Red Is The Rose, Lift The Wings and many more.

Another album of the band was “Ellis Island”, which was released on October 23, 2001. The CD was one of the biggest hits of the band. It consisted of many songs including: Isle Of Hope, Isle Of Tears; My Wild Irish Rose; Love Thee Dearest; Courtin' In The Kitchen; The Stone Outside Dan Murphy's Door; I'll Tell My Ma; Macushla; Slievenamon; The Green Fileds Of France; Trasna Na Dtonnta (Over The Waves); Oro Se Do Bheatha Bhaile (Long Life To You On Your Homecoming and many more.

Irish Tenors released another album “Three Kings” on October 21, 2003 on Razor & Tie Records. The CD consisted of various songs which included: We Three Kings, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Fairy Tale Of New York, I'll Be Home For Christmas and the list is indeed long.
