About The Devil Wears Prada

The initial part of “The Devil Wears Prada” revolves around the job search of the main character “Andrea”. Andrea ventured to New York City in search of a job and ultimately became the co-assistant of the editor of a famous fashion magazine. This story is strewn with several hilarious incidents that make the perfect recipe for a brilliant comedy film. Though one can trace out some subplots in this movie, they are so finely interlinked with each other that one can hardly separate them from the main plot of this story. Anne Hathaway plays the main role of this film. Tracie Thoms, Simon Baker, Meryl Streep, Adrian Grenier, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are some of the famous members who also performed in some key roles in this film.

Though all the actors and actresses have performed brilliantly in this movie, Streep’s performance is worth mentioning. Her brilliant performance in this movie helped her to grab some prestigious awards. She was elected as the Best Actress from the Golden Globe. Another actor, Blunt has also grabbed a good feedback from the critics and the audiences as well. This film got enormous success and earned approximately over three hundred million dollars. The budget of this film was thirty five million dollars. The shooting of this film took place in various places of Paris and New York City.

The plot of “The Devil Wears Prada” is quite engaging but it is not the sole attraction of this movie. The brilliant and outstanding performance by some actresses and actors also helped this movie to get enormous commercial success. Though the plot of this movie is indebted to the novel by Weisberger, the screenwriter has incorporated some notable changes in the plot. For example, the crisis that was shown at the end of this movie can’t be found in the novel. Further slight changes have integrated with the plot to bring to live some characters.

The film started with Andrea’s (the protagonist of the film) search for a suitable job. She has to go through some humiliating incidents in the early part of her career for grabbing a coveted job in journalism industry. After getting the job in a reputed fashion magazine, she has to face the jibes of her colleagues. Later she overcomes these initial problems dexterously with the help of Emily Charlton, who was the senior assistant of that magazine. Then the story begins to unfold itself, when an encounter takes place between Andrea and a handsome writer Christian Thompson. After this one can experience some amazing and sharp turns in this movie that will make it hard for an audience to leave the hall in the middle.
