The band “The B-52's” was established in the year 1976 in Athens, Georgia, United States. The name of the band has come from a beehive hairdo resembling the nose cone of an airplane. Initially the band's name was “The B-52's” but with the release of the latest album of the band, “Funplex” in the year 2008, the band removed the apostrophe from its name. Now it’s known as “The B-52s”. Wilson, Pierson, Keith Strickland, Ricky Wilson and Fred Schneider initially formed the band. The group sang at a Valentine's Day Party in a Chinese Restaurant.

About The The B-52s
The first single of the band was “Rock Lobster”, which was released in the year 1978. Thereafter, they released their debut album “The B-52's” which included the recorded versions of “Rock Lobster” and “52 girls.”
The band released numerous Studio Albums, Side Projects and Singles. Some of the studio albums are described below.
The album B-52's was released on July 6, 1979 on the label Warner Bros. It was recorded in Compass Point Studios, Nassau, Bahamas under the production of Chris Blackwell. The album reached at number 59 on Billboard 2000. The CD had two sides which consisted of many songs including: “Planet Claire”, “52 Girls”, “Dance This Mess Around”, “Rock Lobster”, “Lava”, “There's a Moon In The Sky”, “Hero Worship”, “6060-842” and “Downtown.”
Another album of the band was “Wild Planet”, which was released on August 27, 1980. The same was recorded in April 1980 on the label Warner Brothers in US and Island Records in UK. The album was the production of Rhett Davies that was on New Wave Genre. The sound of the album was more psychedelic than the previous album of the band. The track consisted of nine songs including: Party Out of Bounds, Dirty Back Road, Running Around, Give Me Back My Man, Private Idaho, Devil in My Car, Quiche Lorraine, Strobe Light and 53 Miles West of Venues.
“Whammy” was another album of the band that was released on April 27, 1983. The same was recorded in December 1982 on the label Warner Brothers. The album was the production of Steven Stanley on New Wave Genre. The tracks consisted of various songs including: Legal Tender, Whammy Kiss, Song For a Future Generation, Butterbean, Trism, Queen Of Las Vegas, Don't Worry, Big Bird and Work That Skirt.
“Bouncing Off The Satellites” was another album of the band that was released on September 8, 1986 on the label Warner Brothers. The same was the production of Tony Mansfield and Shep Pettibone with Genre New Wave. It consisted of many songs including: Summer Of Love, Housework, Communicate, Wig, Juicy Jungle and the list is indeed long.
