Tarja’s first album did not sell well, but received critical acclaim. The second album was a hit and the band was saved from being released by the record company. The group members were glad to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Tarja realized they made it after Mary Kaplan started a fan club for the group in 1998. While the club started out small after the organizer heard the group play at a small club in Seattle, the club grew leaps and bounds after the group’s first national tour.
The latest record from Tarja is the group's first album in five years. The group recently finished their most current record, but they are already planning the next release. Members of Tarja are expecting to bring in a whole new audience with this tour and the most current project.
Tarja realizes that most fans like their older songs, so they use material from past records and the latest record.
