Soul Asylum started singing at the college club Colleague. The guitarist use to listen to tape constantly as a teenager. The drummer used to annoy his grandfather by playing his favorite record at all hours of the night. Soul Asylum’s members were friends in grade school. Soul Asylum were happy to get the record deal, but were not sure how far they would go.
