Background: "Sawyer Brown" represents a rare act in the musical history. This band has been enjoying a long, hit-filled career and their songs have remained viable into the new millennium too. Originally, the group grew out of singer Don King's touring band. The band got its first break when drummer Joe Smyth and guitarist Bobby Randall were signed in 1979. Then the others members of the group, keyboardist Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard, bassist Jim Scholten and guitarist/lead singer Mark Miller arrived in 1980. Then the group decided to stay together, initially they named their band as "Nashville Street". They spent there next two years in rehearsing and waited for a break. They are one of those bands who play the country pop and helped it to get the kind of recognition it deserves. Their music is a true delight for a country pop lover, so whenever they perform live, they get huge response and their fans heartily buy the tickets to enjoy the country pop. >> More alt

About Sawyer Brown

At last they got their big break in a very popular talent hunt show. This break won them the grand prize of 100,000 dollars; this wasn't enough for the talented group as they signed up by Liberty/Capitol in 1984. In 1985, "Sawyer Brown" released their self titled debut album. The album was received well by the music lovers, there debut single, "Leona," reached at the Top 20; then came there other hits like: "Step That Step" that went all the way to become number one.

The band went through a slump during 1986-1987, as there were many bands coming with the similar country-pop theme. The band bounced back in 1991 with their new album including the smash hit track "The Boys Are Back" that climbed into the top five. During this phase the band went through some turmoil as they parted from Liberty and signed with Curb; all this and many others factors couldn't stop the band from touring. The band continued their touring and in between gave some memorable hits like "Some Girls Do," "All These Years and Trouble on the Line." In 1993 they released "The Boys & Me" and "Hard to Say," and their third number on "Thank God for You." The band achieved enormous commercial success with their Greatest Hits 1990-1995, that was a Top Five-selling compilation with two new tracks, "This Time," and "I Don't Believe in Goodbye" both climbed the top five hits chart. Then came the other albums "Top Ten This Thing Called Wantin" and "Havin' It All" in 1995. These two followed by the "live Six Days on the Road" (Top Ten seller) and the CCM record “Hallelujah He Is Born". Then arrived" Top Ten Drive Me Wild” in 1999, Following 2002's poppy album "Can You Hear Me Now". This band has been performing live, so you can contact your on-line ticket vendor and get the tickets to enjoy music.
