Quiet Riot is a hugely popular heavy metal band, founded by vocalist Kevin DuBrow in 1975. The band set the 1980's glam metal scene on fire with their explosive arrival. The original line up of the band comprised of Kelli Garni (bass), Randy Rhoads (guitar), and Drew Forsyth (drums). Actually the name "Quiet Riot" is taken from a phrase in John Barth's 1960s best seller novel Giles Goat-Boy.

They are one of the most distinguished heavy metal bands on this planet. They are also ranked at number hundred on VH1's 100 all time greatest Artists of Hard Rock. Their debut album "Metal Health" (1983) is acclaimed as the highest charting debut album. The group received a smash hit with a remake of Slade's "Cum On Fell the Noize." “Quiet Riot” are distinguished for having the highest charting debut album by a Metal band with Metal Health (1983). The band scored a big hit with a remake of Slade's soothing number "Cum On Feel the Noize." Though they broke up in 1988 but came together in '90s with vocalist Dubrow.
Kevind DuBrow, started the band with bassist Kelli Garni, drummer Drew Forsyth and guitarist Randy Rhodes. They started their musical journey by playing in the local clubs of L.A. They found it very difficult to get a worthy offer as it was a disco-dominated era of the late '70s. Though they secured a contract with Columbia in Japan, then followed their moderately successful albums self titled debut album in 1978 and "Quiet Riot II" in 1979. This was quite a slump period for the band and soon it disbanded and DuBrow moved ahead and formed another band his name with bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Frankie Banali. In 1983, the band recorded "Metal Health."
Pressured to perform on their hot streak was huge so the band members rushed back to studio to record "Condition Critical" in 1984. This release didn't fare well. In 1986, the band regrouped and launched a comeback with "QRIII," soon Sarzo was replaced by bassist Chuck Wright. The band went on to release some moderate successful albums. In 1991, Cavazo and DuBrow began working together once again in a local band called "Heat." In 2001, the band released "Guilty Pleasures." In 2003, the band offcially broke up and reunited in 2005, the current line up comprised of Wright, Banali, DuBrow, and guitarist Alex Grossi.
