The members of Psychostick grew up together. The bassist was encouraged to play by his uncle. Psychostick began playing at the local bar Anyplace. The band used to practice at the bassist's garage.

Psychostick were uneasy after releasing the debut recording, but were happy when they heard their music on the radio for the first time. The band is on the road all the time now promoting their album before sold out audiences. Psychostick was offered a record contract after their single was heard on Q97.5. The members of the band all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
Psychostick accepted they had finally made it as soon as the group’s first fan club was started in 1994 by Kim Klinger. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Anna Parquette created a website for the band and a national tour gave the band plenty of exposure.
The band is in the midst of the tour accompanying for their newest project. Psychostick will spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the group members to rest after a long tour.
