The members of Pelican grew up together. The guitarist wanted to start a group since he was in middle school. The bassist used to annoy his sister by playing his favorite cassette tape constantly. Pelican started playing at the college club Network. The group used to sell their CDs out of their truck at local shows.

After this past hectic year the members of Pelican will spend some time apart to work on side projects. The group recently finished their latest album, and they are already planning the next release. Pelican's newest release is a refinement of their accepted sound.
