Patty Smyth met with a local DJ from X100.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The band members were excited once they were signed and quit their odd jobs that had supported them while they worked toward their dreams.
The group has just finished their latest project, and they are planning the next release already. After this last busy year the members of Patty Smyth will take a break to work on other projects.
San Diego has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the band schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring.
