The members of Pan Tourismos were friends in high school. The bassist was heavily influenced by his father's love for music. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. Pan Tourismos started playing at Chamber, a local club. The group used to sell their tapes out of their car in the school parking lot.

Pan Tourismos knew they had finally made it as soon as Sandra Colangelo started the first fan club for the group in 1999. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Springfield to a few thousand all across the country.
