The members of Ohio met in 1989. The bassist was encouraged to play by his middle school teacher. The guitarist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. Ohio began playing at the local club Accountant. The group used to practice at the guitarist's house.

Ohio was offered a record contract after playing at at Crease, local bar. The band members were relieved to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Ohio accepted the fact that their dream of making a life as musicians had come true after the band’s first fan club was started in 1977 by Karen Geanopulos. Starting out with just a few dozen members in Miami, the fan club quickly grew with group’s national tour and the launching of the group’s website by Kim Cochrane.
The newest release from Ohio is the group's third record.
The group may have just finished their new project, but they are plotting their next move already. Members of Ohio hope this tour and the latest release attracts a new audience.
