The members of Odessey grew up together. The lead singer use to listen to cassette tape constantly as a teenager. The lead singer was encouraged to play by his music teacher. Odessey began singing at the local club Matrix. The group used to practice at the lead singer's house.

After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, Odessey knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder. The band continues to play large venues, but still enjoys playing in smaller clubs on occasion. Odessey was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The band took any show they could get before they were signed.
Odessey knew that they could really have a career in music in 1982, when the band's first fan club was started by Michelle Orsino. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Biloxi. After the band’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.
Odessey's new project is the band's first album in six years. The group recently finished their newest album, but they are already planning their next move. Odessey will spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the band members to recharge after a long tour.
Houston has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the band schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring. Odessey knows to play both the old and the new at their performances.
