The newest album from Oakhurst has been heavily influenced by bands of the 1960s. The group has just finished their latest release, and they are plotting their next move already. Oakhurst intends to spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the group members to pursue other projects.
Oakhurst talked to a music director from Q97.9 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Oakhurst was signed. The band is constantly touring now, rarely taking a week or night off.
Oakhurst realized they made it as soon as the band’s first fan club was started in 1986 by Patricia Gremillion. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
Oakhurst seamlessly blends the songs from the older album with tracks from their latest release.
