The punk rock band, NOFX was formed in 1983 in California. Their original lineup comprised singer Fat Mike, drummer Erik Sandin, and guitarist Eric Melvin. After several line-up changes, since 1991 El Hefe performs lead guitar and trumpet. The band's sound is a blend of Punk Rock, skate punk, ska, and several other music genres. Their lyrics mostly centers on issues such as politics, society, various subcultures, racism, the music industry, and religion. They have released 10 studio full lengths, 15 EPs, and a legion of singles. The band has sold over 6 million records all over the world, and is one of the most outstanding independent bands of all time.

In 1985 they released their debut EP NOFX on Mystic Records. And later in 1992 it was re-released as a part of the Maximum RocknRoll CD. For a year, Erik Sandin left the band and was substituted by Scott Sellers, then Scott Aldahl. Dave Allen was part of the band for almost four months, until he deceased in a car accident. In 1986, the band came up with "So What if We're on Mystic!". Subsequently Dave Casillas got together with the band on second guitar in 1987 and was presented on the EP The P.M.R.C. Can Suck on This!
Later on Dave left the band and was put back by Steve Kidwiller. Then they recorded Liberal Animation in 1988 with Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion. Although the title and some wordings bemocked vegetarianism and animal rights it was still largely accepted. Fat Mike became a vegetarian, after he composed the Liberal Animation album. The track was re-released in 1991 on Gurewitz's label Epitaph Records. By 1989 NOFX had signed with Epitaph, reissuing their second album S&M Airlines. By 1991, there had been a severe alteration with the band lineup. However, the former three members had rejoined and Aaron Abeyta came together to round out the group. White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean were issued in 1992, which actually had the title White Trash, Two Kikes, and a Spic.
In 2003, NOFX brought out an album of political songs named as, War on Errorism. It marked the beginning of their anti-George W. Bush run, and a rallying point for leftist punks. The group has released various EPs on Fat Mike's own label Fat Wreck Chords. In February 2005, they established the NOFX 7" of the Month Club, a donation-based service that assured the release of one new EP nearly monthly, from February 2005 to March 2006. The cover art for these EPs were selected from fan-presented entries. The first 3000 subscribers to the club got all of their records on colored vinyl. Fat Wreck Chords later issued full sets of the Eps. In 2007, the band recorded two nights of recent shows in San Francisco, California for an upcoming live album. On July 10, 2007, NOFX declared a world tour comprising concerts in Israel in September 2007.
