Nile is a death metal band assembled in 1993. The band comprised of Karl Sanders (Guitar/Vocals), Pete Hammoura (Drums) and Chief Spires (Bass/Vocals). The band members worked on every detail before they hit the mainstream musical scene. Their tracks contain the energy of dynamics. The band released their single demo in 1994, and honed in their well defined vision, followed by their appearance in some popular musical festivals. While, they were working on their next album, at the same time the band also played a number of shows and concerts in the Southeastern U.S. supporting some fine acts as DEICIDE, OBITUARY, SIX FEET UNDER, and BROKEN HOPE. Quickly the band earned a huge fan base and climb to the top.

Nile hails from South Carolina, USA. Their scintillating power package or music is inspired by History, religion, Ancient Egyptian mysticism and art. Their music is mostly written by the founding member and guitarist Karl Sanders. It blends elements of Middle Eastern music with traditional death metal, while incorporating the sounds of traditional Egyptian instruments. Their music is unique in itself as it characterized by its speed and extreme complexity, for which the Nile has received acknowledgement from numerous music lovers and journalists.
There music presents the lyrical content which is based on ancient Middle Eastern cultures and Egyptology. Some well composed lengthy sleeve notes are also blended with the albums like: Annihilation of the Wicked, Black Seeds of Vengeance, and In Their Darkened Shrines. Karl has also issued on solo album titled as "Saurian Meditation." Many of their fans mistake band-members as being Egyptian but none of them are Egyptian.
