Mumiy Troll began playing together while they were in high school. The bassist used to annoy his grandfather by playing his favorite music nonstop. The lead singerdiscovered his love of music by listening to his sibling's record collection. Mumiy Troll started playing at the local dive bar Remorse. Mumiy Troll finally realized they made it in 1981, when the band's first fan club was started by Pamela Teisberg. After starting out with a handful of members in Chicago, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.
