About Miranda Lambert

She was born on November 10, 1983, in Longview at Texas, but was brought up in Lindale, by her parents who were private investigators by profession. She developed an interest for country music during her childhood itself by getting influenced by her father, who was also a country guitarist and songwriter. She took her initial guitar lessons from her father. As a young girl, Miranda Lambert has participated in different talent contests.

When her parents noticed, Miranda Lambert's aptitude for music, they encouraged her a lot to pursue a career in singing. She made her professional singing debut during her high school days and joined the house band at the Reo Palm Isle Ballroom in Longview, Texas. She finished first in the auditions for Nashville Star for Texas and came out third in the national competition. She even released a self titled album, during her initial career days.

She signed a contract with Sony records on September 15, 2003 and her debut album, Kerosene, was released under this label on March 05, 2005. The album became a huge hit and some 852,000 copies of the album have been sold till date. It reached the number one position on the country album charts and has recently gone platinum. Nashville Scene named this album as one of the best albums of 2005.

Miranda Lambert's latest album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, was released on May 1, 2007. She has written eight of the eleven songs for the album. The tracks of this album include Gunpowder And Lead, Dry Town, Famous In A Small Town, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Love Letters, Desperation, More Like Her, Down, Guilty In Here, Getting Ready and Easy From Now On. The album is already making news and it debuted at number six on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling around 53,000 copies in the very first week.

At the 40th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Miranda Lambert won the Cover Girl Fresh Face of Country Music Award and the Best New Female award at the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards. Apart from this, she has been nominated for different Country Music Awards and Grammy Awards.

One thing that makes Miranda Lambert different from others is that her songs always reflect or talk about real things in life. She tours at different places with her road band which comprises of Aden Bubeck on Bass Guitar, Chris Kline on Keyboards, Alex Weeden on Guitar, Scotty Wray on Rhythm Guitar and Keith Zebowski on Drums. Presently, Miranda Lambert is on tour for promoting her latest album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
