About Midlake

Midlake was discovered after single was played on K97.5. The band's members all had weird jobs while they waited to be noticed. After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, Midlake knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder.

Midlake finally knew they made it in 1981, when Barbara Isenhower started the group’s first fan club. After playing nation wide, the band’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Champaign to thousands in every city throughout the country.

Midlake intends to take some time off after the tour, to allow the band members to pursue individual projects. The group may have recently finished their most current release, but they are thinking of what is next to come. The new release from Midlake is the band's first album in three years.

Often times, critics praise Midlake for their ability to connect with the crowd at live performances. St. Louis music critic Ian Oswalt has always praised group’s superb drummer. Midlake’s most current release is the group’s best album yet, according to the Chad Greczkowski, a music critic from Biloxi.
