The members of M-16 grew up together. The drummer wanted to start a group since he was in high school. The bassist used to listen to radio constantly as a child. M-16 began performing at Community, a local club. The band used to sell their records out of their van in the school parking lot.

Members of M-16 hope to collaborate with other artists during this tour. The band is in the middle of the tour promoting for their most current release. The newest release from M-16 is a refinement of their established sound.
M-16’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they started.
M-16 realized that they were truly working musicians in 1984, as soon as Barbara Gasteyer started the group’s first fan club. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
