Kenny Chesney- History
Kenny Chesney has come a long way from his childhood home of Luttrell, Tennessee. After graduating from East Tennessee State University with a degree in advertising, the young singer headed to Nashville and performed at clubs. Eventually he was noticed, and in 1992 he signed with BMI and Opryland Music Group.

His early records produced several hits, like “Fall in Love,” “Grandpa Told Me So,” When I Close My Eyes.” His second record for BNA Records would become certified gold, but his third album, I Will Stand, was the break his career needed. “She’s Got It All,” a single off the album reached number one on the Billboard charts and made him a star. The album also included Billboard hits like “That’s Why I’m Here.”
Chesney carried his continued success on subsequent albums in the late ‘90s into the new century. No Shoes, No Shirts, No Problem featured singles that skyrocketed atop the Billboard charts. “Young” went to number two and “The Good Stuff” spent seven weeks at number one and won Billboard’s country song of the year.
Chesney and his eleven albums have won countless awards during his career. He has been named the ACM Entertainer of the Year three times, CMA Entertainer of the Year three times, and won the 33rd People’s Choice Award for Favorite Male Singer.
