Background:
Jeff Tweedy made the headlines with Uncle Tupelo in the '80s and early '90s. Though he had already received the reasonable success but his own band, Wilco, gave him the genuine recognition and that’s how he would step out from the shadow of hugely popular legendary alt-country band and his former great partner, Jay Farrar. Belleville, IL, high school pals Farrar and Tweedy started the band Uncle Tupelo in the mid-'80s. The band did well as it consistently released four albums including their superb seminal debut, "No Depression."

About Jeff Tweedy
The band was still young since its formation as it suffered a huge loss in 1994, when Farrar abruptly quit the band and started "Son Volt." Now Tweedy and the remaining members of the band revived themselves and picked up as "Wilco." The band released their maiden album, A.M. in 1995. This was followed by two-disc "Being There" in 1996. This was truly a sprawling achievement that earned them comparisons to the great Rolling Stones. Tweedy has also been a part of popular band "Golden Smog," which was an all-star collective which also included members of the Soul Asylum, Jayhawks, and Big Star. This track also appeared on the popular Handsome Family album "Through the Trees." This album was also appeared on the Jim Cuddy's solo debut; Jim was also the member of the Blue Rodeo.
Besides these achievements he also collaborated with Billy Bragg. In 2000 and 2001, he undertook a series of solo shows before he settled in to work on next album of the band. Unluckily, the band couldn't release their next album and consequently decided to tour. In 2002, Tweedy released his debut album "Chelsea Walls," the songs were written by Ethan Hawke.
