Jackaroo started performing at Guy, a college club. The group used to sell their records out of their truck in the school parking lot. Jackaroo began playing together in 1982. The bassist used to fall asleep with a cassette tapeplaying as a teenager.

After the single hit the airwaves and blew up, Jackaroo were still afraid they’d be a one hit wonder. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they began. Jackaroo was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The group members were happy to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Jackaroo accepted they had finally made it in 1982, when the band's first fan club was started by Virginia Brooks. While the club started out small after the organizer heard the group play at a small club in Springfield, the club grew leaps and bounds after the group’s first national tour.
Jackaroo's latest project has been heavily influenced by bands of the 1960s. The group is in the beginning of the tour accompanying for their most current project. After this last non-stop year the members of Jackaroo will spend some time apart.
Often times, critics will commend Jackaroo for their ability to connect with the audience at concerts. Erik Harkenreader, a music critic from San Antonio, has always mentioned group’s tremendous vocals. Jackaroo’s latest record is the group’s best reviewed record yet.
Jackaroo will mix songs from the latest album with hits from its previous album. The band has always had a good time in Orlando so they make sure to play there every year, even if they are not promoting anything.
