J. Medicine Hat’s members met in high school. The bassist use to listen to records constantly as a child. J. Medicine Hat began performing at the college dive bar Beach. The band used to sell their tapes out of their truck at the local music store.

The band has just finished their new record, and they are already thinking of their next move. The new release from J. Medicine Hat has taken the group in a quite different direction, with a bigger sound.
J. Medicine Hat was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. All the members quit their day jobs to focus on their music. J. Medicine Hatwere tentative after releasing their first album, but were more than relieved when they started hearing their music on the radio.
J. Medicine Hat accepted that they could really have a career in music when the group’s first fan club was started in 1977 by Sarah Geanopulos. Starting out in San Diego with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand country wide in under a year.
J. Medicine Hat appreciates that they are able to do what they love because of the fans, so they play the hits off their newest project as well as the classics. Denver has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the band schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring. J.
