Perlman is a hugely popular Israeli violinist. Unfortunately, at the age of four, Perlman lost the use of his legs because of polio. This was a great agony for a child who had not played with his pals like another normal kid. But destiny had something big in store for this kid. Soon, he began violin lessons at local Shulamit High School in Tel-Aviv. Soon, it proved that Perlman was made to play the violin.

About Itzhak Perlman
At the young age of ten, he began performing in recitals and concerts with the popular Israel Broadcasting Orchestra. Perlman had a long way to go; soon he won a talent hunt competition and went on to appear on American television. With his diligent efforts he earned various scholarships and awards. His endeavors allowed him to stay in big city of New York. In New York, Perlman studied at the prestigious Juilliard School with Galamian.
Perlman made his very first professional appearance at the famous Carnegie Hall. In 1964, Perlman won the Leventritt Memorial Competition. These achievements led to some fruitful engagements with many popular American orchestras including the famed New York Philharmonic. In 1965, Perlman toured his home-land Israel. He continued to perform throughout the famous concerts.
In 1968, Perlman made his British debut at Festival Hall with the popular London Symphony Orchestra. During 1968-69, he participated in the famous London South Bank Summer Music Series. This music genius is famous for his brilliant technique, precision and direct interpretation. Perlman is a phenomenal star throughout the whole world.
