Many people associate the blues as being a purely African American phenomenon but the blues is actually a Native American musical form that has grown from strength to strength as a way of orally preserving the tales of the trials and tribulations that many Native people experienced over generations. This tradition lives on in the music of the band Insane Clown Posse. Among other artists like Georgie Jessup, Rita Coolidge, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Brule, Della Reese and Joanne Shenandoah, Insane Clown Posse is helping to sustain and cultivate the tradition of blues in the Native American community.

The band hails from the Sioux nation and is a family band, consisting of brothers Mato Nanji on vocals and guitar, Horse on drums, Pte on bass and sister Wanbdi on drums and vocals. The band has already created a sensation on the music circuit with two critically acclaimed albums under their belt and the admiration of such recording artists as Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne and the Indigo Girls.
