Illinois Brass Band performs the classic material eloquently and powerfully, providing another excellent rendition of the timeless classic. The work is an excellent example of the movement in the contemporary period. Illinois Brass Band was written in the 1800s, but comes alive now in the performance. The composer for Illinois Brass Band is Ted Okerblom, a relatively new composer. The composer’s first worked as a composer in Raleigh and his first show featured a piece of work by William Byrd. While studying music in Chicago, he decided he wanted to become a composer.
