Hinder comprises of Austin Winkler, Joe "Blower" Garvey, Mike Rodden, Mark King and Cody Hanson. Austin Winkler, the 25 year old vocalist was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 25, 1981. Hinder comprises of Austin Winkler (frontman and vocals), Joe "Blower" Garvey (guitar), Mike Rodden (bass), Mark King (guitar) and Cody Hanson (drums). Austin Winkler's musical and vocal heroes include Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Buckcherry's Josh Todd and Mo¨tley Cru¨e's Vince Neil.
Hinder released their first album, "Extreme Behavior" in 1995 with the label, Universal Motown Records Group. The album was produced under the helm of Brian Howes (of Aerosmith fame) and engineered by Mike Fraser. Hinder began when drummer Cody Hanson and guitarist Joe Garvey saw current vocalist Austin Winkler performing for a cover band at a dormitory party.
The track list of "Extreme Behavior" includes, "Get Stoned" which peaked at No 4 position on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart; "How Long" which reached the 6th position on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart; "By the Way"; "Nothin' Good About Goodbye"; "Bliss (I Don't Wanna Know)"; "Better Than Me" (this was produced by both Brian Howes and Hinder); "Room 21"; "Lips of an Angel" (Lips of an angel reached #1 in the U.S. Billboard Pop 100, U.S. Mainstream Top 40, Canadian Airplay Chart, Canadian Digital Singles, Australian Singles Chart and New Zealand Singles Chart); "Homecoming Queen" and "Shoulda".

Hinder is all about their fans which apparently is called "Hinder army". As a special holiday season gift, Hinder sang an acoustic version of "Little Drummer Boy" and released it to their fans. On June 8, 2007, Hinder performed for their British fans at the UK Download Festival.
Hinder's fame is trans continental and if they continually release great music with simply beautiful, soul-stirring lyrics, the world will soon be Hinder's oyster. The Oklahoma City boys have come a long way from performing at college dorm parties and are now an established and successful band.
