Haiku’s members met in 1982. The bassist used to fall asleep with the radioplaying as a teenager. The lead singer first found his love of music by listening to his aunt's music collection. Haiku began performing at Beach, a college bar. The band used to practice at the bassist's garage.

After this past hectic year the members of Haiku will spend some time apart. The group may have recently finished their latest project, but they are already plotting the next move. Haiku's newest album is the band's first album in nine years.
Haiku’s single rose quickly in the charts giving then the national recognition they always wanted. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues which they began.
Haiku knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true after Laura Lamango started a fan club for the group in 1982. The band embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Angela Zadra and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
The band loves playing in Tampa because they played their first sold out show there. Haiku seamlessly blends the songs from the previous project with tracks from their newest record.
