A member of Garratt Wilkin started dating a girl whose dadwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. Garratt Wilkin’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going platinum.
Garratt Wilkin knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act when Carol Noonan started the first fan club for the group in 1984. After starting out with a handful of members in Atlanta, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.
The group is in the second leg of the tour accompanying for their most current project. Garratt Wilkin plans to take some time off after this next tour, allowing the group members to rest after a long tour.
Critics have often praised Garratt Wilkin for their playfulness with the audience at live shows. Cypher Gasteyer, a music critic from Shelbyville, has always praised group’s terrific vocals.
