Gang Gang Dance is a rock band formed in Brooklyn in New York in 2001. The unconventional work of the group is termed as art rock, experimental rock and avant-garde rock. They have great impact on every genres of music. It included ambient electronica, Brian Eno, world music and psychedelic rock. The band is famous both for their concerts and for studio releases. The tracks made by the group not oriented to dance or club. They do not produce music for the extravagant society. The followers of this band are educated and sober rock listeners. Before the inception of this band, many of its members had performed united on many other works.

The band consists of Brian DeGraw on keyboard, Tim De Witt on drums, Liz Bougatsos and Nathan Maddox on vocals, Josh Diamond on guitar. Maddox died in 2002. In 2004, the band comprising the four members made a contract with The Social Registry an autonomous record label based in Brooklyn. They brought out Revival of the Shittiest in the same year and God’s Money in the following year. In 2007, they brought out the CD/DVD Retina Riddim. The music of this band is near to religious music. They use each note with a ritualistic meaning. They composed the tracks in such a way that it tempted dimmed thought and colourful dancing. The tracks were devoid of any chorus performance. It only had music that was mingling with one another.
All the albums of the band Gang Gang Dance were full of innovative power that motivated superiority. The release of the band that was self-titled was a compilation album. It had a couple of twenty-two minute stretched exploration to the sensitive limits of experimenting vocal of a female with extraordinary drumming. The collection of live stage concerts termed Hillelah was composed of free forms, rapid play of electronic keyboard, layers of distortion and ten minutes of improvisational drum. The latest release of the band named God’s Money tended to the conventional tracks with identifiable music. In this album, too they did not lost their love for experimenting that makes them identical among all other bands. They were to record and release a fresh album during the next autumn.
Josh once in an interview stated that the rhythm of their drumming is the fundamental element of their band. The relation that the band members shared was also a proper psychic rhythm. The interchange in their concerts is a striking feature of their show. Their last release had bass drumming of Josh who played guitar from the starting. Apart from beating drums, they made music by beating coconuts, chairs, bells, drums. Brian also stated that rhythmic melody was an essential component of the band. The making of sounds many times created misunderstanding while tapings. Liz stated that there concerts were also inventiveness where they used anything to make melody. They had a blend of conventional and unconventional music instrument. The inventiveness apart from the rhythm is also a unique feature that was noticeable in this band.
