G. Love & Special Sauce began performing at the college dive bar City. The guitarist wanted to start a band since he was in middle school. The bassist used to annoy his grandmother by playing his favorite cassette tape at all hours of the night. The members of G. Love & Special Sauce met in 1994. The band used to sell their tapes out of their truck at the local record store.

About G. Love & Special Sauce
G. Love & Special Sauce's new release has taken the group in a new direction, using more instruments than ever before. The band is in the second leg of the accompanying tour for their most current record.
Generally, critics have commended G. Love & Special Sauce for their ability to rile up the crowd at concerts. Baltimore music critic Samuel Phillippe has always been a fan of band’s tremendous bassist. G. Love & Special Sauce’s latest project has received tremendous praise from all the critics, including Abrahams Kloiber, who first saw the group sing in Oklahoma City.
G. Love & Special Sauce talked to a program director from Z92.1 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after G. Love & Special Sauce was signed. The group members quit their other jobs to focus on their album. G. Love & Special Sauce’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going platinum.
G. Love & Special Sauce knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act in 1992, when Breanda Baca started the band’s first fan club. The band embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Patricia Francoeur and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
