Eli Young Band met with a local DJ from X89.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The groupyears opening for bands at small festivals.
Eli Young Band realized that the possibility of living life as actual musicians was a distinct possibility in 1979, as soon as the band's first fan club was started by Martha Nicodemus. The fan club received a huge boost after Sandra Dickenson designed a website for the group. That coupled with the tour from coast to coast saw the fan club’s official membership reach numbers in the thousands.
Eli Young Band are expecting to bring in a new audience with this tour and the latest album. The group has just completed their latest release, and they are already planning the next release. The newest project from Eli Young Band is the group's first album in eight years.
