Echo & The Bunnymen’s members grew up together. The drummer used to listen to his grandfather's record constantly as a kid. Echo & The Bunnymen began playing at Portrait, a college club. Jazz heavily influenced the early work of the group.

The band has just finished their new album, but they are already thinking of their next move. Members of Echo & The Bunnymen are expecting to bring in another audience with this tour and the latest release.
Echo & The Bunnymen were sure they were not going to be a one hit wonder after their single became popular. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they started. Echo & The Bunnymen talked to a local program director from Z95.1 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Echo & The Bunnymen was signed. The group members quit their other jobs to focus on their record.
Echo & The Bunnymen accepted that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after the group’s first fan club was started by Pam Colangelo in 1977. The band embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the band’s own website by Martha Moran and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
