The members of Dwarves were friends in college. The group had their friends call into the local radio station to play their track. Dwarves started singing at City, a local dive bar. The bassist used to listen to his grandfather's cassette tape constantly as a kid.

Dwarves talked to a DJ from K96.5 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Dwarves was signed. The group's members all had odd jobs while they worked hard to be known. Dwarves were happy to get the record deal, but were not sure how far they would go. The release of their debut recording convinced them that they were right where they should be after their songs began to get lots of radio play.
Dwarves realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true after Melissa Innocent started the first fan club for the band in 1985. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Las Vegas to a few thousand from New York to California.
Dwarves will take some time off after the tour, to allow the group members to recharge after a long tour. The band recently finished their newest record, but they are already planning the next release. Dwarves's latest release has taken the band in a new direction, going back to basics.
Often times critics will praise Dwarves for their ability to rile up the crowd at live shows. Concord music critic Miles Phillippe has always mentioned group’s crisp lyrics. Dwarves’s newest record has received terrific reviews from all the critics, including Malcom Isenhower, who first saw the band perform in Las Vegas.
