The Dixie Chick band is honoured with several Grammy award is the largest marketed women band in any kind of music, Dixie Chicks. The band was formed by the Erwin sisters Laura, Robin, Emily and Martie who after marriage changed their surnames. Macy and Lynch were the singers and the other two made music for the tracks. They had instruments like banjo, mandolin, fiddle, viola, guitar, bass, accordion and many more. With the bluegrass effect they came with their debut album titled Thank Heavens for Dale Evans in 1990 with the company Crystal Clear Sound.

They had a good number of followers and in Telluride Bluegrass Festival won the award for Best Band. Though they performed very well but got a few scope to perform excepting the radio shows. In 1991 they made Home on the Radar Range which was followed by their next album Little Ol’ Cowgirl in the next year. Robin went out and played in Dallas. Lynch then became their main vocalist and their tracks of the 1993 album Shouldn’t a Told You That was not very popular. They went on several trips and performed on many important occasions but could not get popularity and proper marketing evade the band.
Natalie Maines came in the later half of 1995 in place of Laura Lynch. The following year the band was reconnoitred by Sony and they got tied up with the reformed Monument Records Label. The members of the band changed a lot from what they were originally. The band was headed by Martie who sang and played mandolin, Natalie Maines as guitarist and vocalist on live performances and Emily who sang andplayed the banjo, dobro, guitar. The new formation made them successful as Natalie had a solid and unique sound texture which matched with the music of the band. The 1999 album Fly was also well marketed for the lyrics, and music which was a blend of melancholy, pop in a country style.
The track themed on the attack of 2001 September titled I Believe in Love was the track which was fore3runner of the band’s change in music. Later they had some legal problems with Sony with whom they made many popular albums and was no more contracted with any big company. They gave lyrics to tracks of their choice and came out with the new album Home in the year 2002. The tracks were written by the band members only and were termed not commercial. The music of the tracks was totally dissimilar to their previous records. They ruled on the Grammy Awards 2003 where they received four Grammies for the category Best Country Album, Best Country Instrumental Performance, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group and for the Lil' Jack Slade
