Disturbed took four years to get off the ground, but once they did, they have dominated the hard rock genre. The group began when guitarist Dan Donegan, bassist Steve “Fuzz” Kmak, and drummer Mike Wengren hired David Draiman as their lead singer in 1996. Originally fans considered the group to be a nu metal band that mixed everything from grunge to hip hop, to heavy metal, but as the albums and tickets sold Disturbed became increasingly more hard rock.

Four years after forming and playing countless concerts and recording several demos, Disturbed released their debut album, The Sickness. The album catapulted the Chicago band into the stars, as “Down With the Sickness” became their signature song. Disturbed began an extremely heavy schedule of touring, staring with Ozzfest, then on their own tour, Music as a Weapon, and then with Marilyn Manson as he toured Europe. Fans that bought tickets and saw the group play went out and purchased the album, taking it to three-time platinum certification.
In 2002, Disturbed released their second studio album, Believe, which debuted at number one. “Prayer”, “Liberate”, and “Remember” impressed fans that were afraid a sophomore slump would take hold the group. Instead the fans were extremely happy with the album and bought tickets to the once again hectic touring schedule for Disturbed.
The next album, Ten Thousand Fists (2005) would reach number one on the charts as well, but it would be with a new bassist. Steve “Fuzz” Kmak left personal reasons and he was ultimately replaced by John Moyer. Disturbed treated to their fans to numerous chances to buy ticket and see them play as they played on the Jagremeister tour, an Australian tour with Korn, a European tour, and Ozzfest.
Disturbed released their fourth album, Indestructible, on June 3, 2008 to another number one debut.
