The tracks I’ll and Jealous earned them popularity in 1998. The debut uncut album of this group titled Gauze came out in market in the next year. The recordings were made to publish DVD of the concerts in which they performed to endorse the album. Due to ill health of the singer Kyo many concerts endorsing Macabre were deferred. The band in 2001 made trips to South Korea, Taiwan and China for the next uncut album. They participated in Akasaka Blitz in 2003 where every show was dedicated for an album and introduced some tracks from their upcoming album of the year titled Vulgar.

In 2004 they arranged trips to many venues for their album Vulgar which came out in September of the previous year. In 2006 they made their introductory trip outside Asia and had shows in Paris and Berlin. They participated in the Rock im Park and Rock am Ring festivals and made their earliest formal release in Europe titled Withering To Death. The movie Death Trance also had tracks of this band. They went to California, Los Angeles, Texas, Austin and New York and their album withering To Death also came to markets of North America. They performed in Germany and after this the vocalist of the band Kyo again suffered from ill health. The sixth uncut album came in 2007 titled The Marrow of a Bone.

They had several trips in the same year and also their introductory trip to countries like Finland, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom and Poland. Later they had their Dozing Green trip which has a resonance of the name of their album. They started from Japan then moving to the European countries with their introductory shows in Switzerland and Holland. Two collections of their most popular album came to market in 2007 as they completed ten years and titled those collections as Decade 2003-2007 and Decade 1998-2002. In the ongoing year 2008 the band is making preparations for their next recording and have not disclosed anything about the new venture. They are supposed to have their trips of the year starting from the month of May.

The band from the very beginning played pop songs but later they made many changes in their music and are now doing several experiments on their music. They are supposed to modify their music during their workings. The words of all their tracks are given by the vocalist Kyo and are mainly based on media, society, love and its harmful effects. The words are sometimes delicate and sometimes simple but often they have pun in them. They have gained success internationally for the beautiful words and music of their tracks.
