At the initial stage of musical career of “DeVotchKa”, they used to perform in various burlesque shows and they also performed with Dita von Teese. They released their debut album under the title of “Super Melodrama” in the year 2000. This album helped them to come to the forefront of the heavily competitive music industry. Several copies of this album were sold within a few days. Actually, the reason behind the success of this album was their brilliant promotional campaign. After being eulogized by various critics, DeVotchKa started touring various places. This extensive tour helped this band to garner enormous popularity and this tour also helped them to solidify its place in the music industry. One of their famous single “How It Ends” became so popular that this single was selected as a trailer in a famous film “Everything Is Illuminated”. This is one of the turning points in the musical career of DeVotchKa. This film helped them to increase their popularity. Before the release of this movie, DeVotchKa has released an album “Una Volta” in the year 2003. But this album failed to cast a long lasting impression on the audience.

Another turning point of the career of DeVotchKa emerged when they participated in a popular music festival “Bonnaroo” which was held in the year 2006. Their awe-inspiring performance helped them to get a chance to contribute in the famous movie “Little Miss Sunshine” (2006) which was directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton. They clutched the culmination point of their success with the release of this film. Their outstanding performance helped them to get nominated for the prestigious Grammy Award for the category of “Best Compilation Soundtrack”. It was their originality and their constant endeavor to emulate other bands that helped them to garner popularity among the mass. Stimulated by the innovative idea of Win Butler, DeVotchKa released their next musical venture under the title of “Curse Your Little Heart” which was released in the year 2006. Their latest album is “A Mad & Faithful Telling” which was scheduled to be released on 18 March, 2008. They have toured in several places for promoting this album.
