Blues/blues- sensational rock guitarist Derek Trucks is the nephew of famous Butch Trucks.“Trucks” was the drummer of Allman Brothers. Derek displays an eminent command of famous slide guitar styles that run the prevalent gamut from classic R&B to blues; and classic jazz to early rock & roll. Although famous blues players like Elmore James, Buddy Guy, and Duane Allman have been a good influence on Trucks' guitar playing. His other influences include the jazz players like Charlie Parker, Coltrane, and Sun Ra from the early 70s.

About Derek Trucks Band
Derek began playing a custom guitar when he was just nine. At the age of 12, he shared stages with the likes of Allman Brothers Band and Buddy Guy. Derek began his professional career while playing with local blues bands around his lovely native Jacksonville, Fla., and also formed his own band in high school. Before reaching the age of 20, Chris Trucks had jammed with Joe Walsh, Bob Dylan, and Stephen Stills. In 1997, the group released their self-titled debut album. Followed by "Out of the Madness" in late 1998. The turning point came in the life of Derek in 1999, when he was asked to join the Allman Brothers band; he made most of this opportunity. But he continued performing with his own group. Remarkably, he played more than 365 successful shows in 2000 and 2001, with his own group and the Allman Brothers Band. In 2002, the band added vocalist Mike Mattison for the forthcoming tours. Current line up of the band comprises: Derek Trucks (guitar), Mike Mattison (lead vocalist), Kofi Burbridge (keyboards, vocals and flute), Yonrico Scott (drums, percussion and vocals) and Todd Smallie (bass and vocals).
They have been diligently working to create good music for the last ten years. Their music blends rock, jazz, blues, Eastern Indian, Latin, and other world music into the unique sound that now defines as the DTB. The mission of this famous band is to assemble a group of talented and passionate musicians that share a real passion for music exploration and improvisation; and to develop a so called special musical unit by sharing the views and performing with this core group of music players for an extended period of time.
